Position Summary The Lead Maintenance Worker performs and oversees a variety of maintenance-related tasks.

Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Position Responsibilities

Ensure work is accomplished in a professional manner and conforms with work order requirements, specifications, and building codes

Compute material requirements for specific jobs

Maintain adequate shop stock levels and requisition tools, equipment, materials, and supplies for accomplishing shop assignments

Assign duties to staff and provide routine guidance

Perform the duties of a maintenance worker

Perform duties as a member of the Fire Brigade

Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience & Educational Background

High School Diploma

5 years of recent experience in a variety of building trades is required

Construction industry experience is preferred

Valid state driver’s license is required

Skills & Competencies

Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessary

Must adhere to operational safety rules and regulations as deemed by the University

Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills, and the ability to interact with building/office occupants effectively

Must be able to effectively provide direction to lower-level staff

Respirator Fit Testing may be required

Salary Range Grade 9 New Hire rate: $31.07 per hour One Year of Service rate: $31.70 per hour
