About The Role The Purchasing Assistant coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and inventory to meet production requirements. Duties include performing the following tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with daily purchasing activities, order entry, and vendor communication
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records
Prepare and analyze purchasing reports in Excel
Coordinate with production, accounting, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
Support the Purchasing Manager with administrative and analytical tasks
Perform various other job duties as assigned and needed
Prepare purchase orders and send them to the supplier and department originating request
Expedite delivery of goods to users
Meet production requirements on a daily basis while controlling inventory levels with various lead times
Assist heavily with periodic plant inventory
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Prior purchasing or supply chain experience preferred
