The position for this posting is located at Pee Dee Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Florence, SC, serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities
Provides leadership and direct supervision of the Campus Support Coordinators (CSCs) and Switchboard for the facility. Ensures effective patrolling and monitoring of campus grounds; checks for fires, prowlers, vandalism or other unusual occurrences; makes rounds of buildings/units according to Agency and Office directives, ICF-IID regulations, and facility internal procedures; conducts routine fire drills and emergency medical drills; participates in Emergency Preparedness; assists in coordinating required regulatory disaster drills; ensures CSCs conduct required fire drills. Oversees completion of daily log by CSCs to ensure proper documentation of issues arising on each shift and communicates follow-up needs to management staff. Provides on-the-spot correction of noted deficiencies; assists staff with programmatic issues, especially consumer behavioral issues, in accordance with the consumer\'s Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). Provides direct hands-on individual care to all consumers as needed; follows professional techniques according to agency guidelines; participates in training and guides consumers in activities of daily living; monitors and transports consumers to and from programs and off-campus appointments; ensures the health and safety of each consumer; may work additional shifts to maintain proper staffing for safety. Contacts Facility Administrator or designee regarding notifications following ICF-IID regulations and departmental directives; reports Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANEs) and Critical Incidents to the Risk Department and places employees on suspension pending investigation; contacts local law enforcement as necessary. Conducts periodic meetings with Campus Support Coordinators, switchboard operators and executive staff to follow up on facility procedures, events and policies; participates in training as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications
A bachelor\'s degree and experience performing administrative and support services activities in a residential/nursing care setting, or a bachelor\'s degree and experience with business and/or leadership roles in federal, state, or private organizations, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience as approved by the Division of State Human Resources. A valid driver\'s license; experience as a supervisor and experience in the disabilities field. Ability to provide leadership and direct supervision to the Campus Support Coordinators (CSCs) and Switchboard; ability to ensure coverage of all shifts; ability to participate in the Disaster Preparedness Process and conduct annual disaster drills; knowledge of security practices for buildings and grounds; ability to maintain peace and decorum; knowledge of safety, security and fire protection practices; ability to act quickly in emergency situations; ability to investigate accidents and violations; ability to interact professionally with the public, staff, and consumers; strong knowledge of Regional Center policies and Agency/Office Directives; knowledge of ICF-IID regulations, Therapeutic Options, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving. Employment is contingent upon pre-employment screenings: medical screening including drug screening; background record checks (including fingerprinting); South Carolina DSS Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry; U.S. HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities; SC DMV driving record; and verification of educational credentials.
