Job Description Summary of essential job functions

Primary responsibilities include repairing, maintaining, and/or reconditioning machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, winders, extruders, and other manufacturing equipment including general facility using hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring and testing instruments, etc. by performing the following duties:

Dismantle devices and remove defective parts

Locates / troubleshoots malfunction

Inspects used part to determine changes in dimensional requirements

Adjusts functional parts of device and control instruments

Starts device to test performance

Lubricates and cleans parts

May repair electrical equipment (basic)

May work with other maintenance mechanics and electricians to diagnose malfunction. Completes all necessary repairs and refers unusual problems to supervisor. Ensures proper operation and troubleshoots as conditions necessitate. Complete paperwork, work orders, P/M sheets, etc.

Minimum requirements Requires specialized training in mechanical, electrical, and electronics as well as one or more trade skills. In addition, specialized training in the manufacturer of plastic blown film processing and equipment.
