Job Summary:
Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. Interviews patients for all pertinent account information. Verifies all insurance and calculates and collects patient liability amounts. Ensures that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment. Answers any questions and explains policies clearly. Checks for physician orders and attaches them to the appropriate patient record to ensure correct tests are received. Prints and collates any paperwork needed for each patient to distribute to unit/department. Escorts patients to his/her area or refers patient to an available escort as needed.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
Check for physician orders and attaches them to the patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.
Choose correct health plan and accurately research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance. Enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
Follows guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
