Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs full performance level work in multiple‑step clerical tasks calling for interpretation and application of office procedures, rules and regulations. Schedules inmate visits and verifies the identity of all facility visitors (attorneys, probation/parole, volunteers). Processes inmate and facility mail, answers and directs phone calls, sorts and files documents, and performs routine data entry. Assists administrative staff with typing memos, reports and notices. Maintains hard copies of inmate files and utilizes the OIS system to input inmate file information. May perform other duties as assigned. Requires working and/or giving breaks at the switchboard. Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent. Two years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in routine office work. College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience. Critical Vacancy Pay
In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5,000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. (Facilities include Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail… etc.) Employees receive an annual base building pay differential of $250 each fiscal year after completing one year of service. If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 will be removed from their salary unless transferring to another CVPF.
