Compensation Base pay range: $19.00/hr – $23.00/hr
Job Overview Under general supervision, the Set Up Operator performs a variety of semi‑skilled tasks involved in the general maintenance and operations processes; and performs related work as required.
Essential Functions
Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
Develop knowledge of slitter set‑up program
Generate build sheets based on production work orders
Build heads utilizing build sheet instructions
Maintain knife and rubber inventory
Clean slitter knives and slitter tooling
Set‑up, maintain and repair production machines, tooling and other equipment
Perform routine checks of parts to ensure quality of product
Constant inspection of machinery, equipment, and process to ensure safety
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
Ability to perform complete set‑up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements
Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
Able to write simple correspondence in English
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, required
Industry knowledge and experience, a plus
