The Opportunity This position is located at our Lake Bluff, IL site in Global Engineering Services.

Responsibilities As a Housekeeping Associate, you will perform facility cleaning and support required for manufacturing and research environments, adhering to GMP, SOPs and Abbott standards. Your day‑to‑day tasks include:

Cleaning production laboratories, manufacturing support laboratories, research laboratories and common support areas.

Performing regulated cleaning procedures for radioactive or biohazardous materials and microbial control areas.

Preparing radioactive and biohazard housekeeping equipment for autoclaving or disposal.

Mopping floors and cleaning walls in GMP‑regulated areas.

Monitoring waste for radioactive contamination and identifying biohazardous waste.

Disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.

Completing GMP documentation logs, work orders, training documents, and operating handheld electronic units when applicable.

Preparing cleaning solutions following GMP regulated mixing instructions.

Performing preventive maintenance on housekeeping equipment such as battery maintenance, squeegee adjustments, and filter checks.

Supporting recycling programs for glass, paper, corrugate and plastic.

Operating wet/dry battery and electric floor scrubbers, sweepers and burnishers.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; must complete initial training at LC Housekeeping.

Ability to read and comprehend written information including quality documents, SOPs and safety guidelines.

Experience in accurate and legible writing of GMP compliant records.

Computer proficiency for technical training and documentation via handheld computers and CMMS.

The base pay for this position is $15.45 – $29.00 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary.
