Postdoctoral Research Scholar North Carolina State University – Department of Materials Science & Engineering – Raleigh, NC. Position begins December 2024. Full‑time, FLSA exempt.

Job Overview The Kinga Unocic Research Group seeks a postdoctoral researcher to perform high‑temperature oxidation testing, characterize oxidation coupons, support laboratory setup and maintenance, and conduct data analysis using MATLAB and Python. The role also involves grant writing, figure preparation, and report generation.

Key Responsibilities

Perform high‑temperature oxidation testing and monitor sample testing.

Characterize oxidation coupons and conduct post‑characterization.

Assist with laboratory setup, maintain laboratory operations, and develop and implement MATLAB/Python scripts for data analysis and automation.

Assist with grant writing, bibliographic research, figure preparation, and reporting activities.

Qualifications

PhD in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with laboratory testing, materials characterization, MATLAB/Python.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of laboratory safety and biosafety practices.

Compensation $58,656 – $59,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
