Kienstra - Ready Mix Concrete has served the St. Louis Regional Area since 1947! Seeking an experienced technician interested in a career in repairing ready-mix concrete trucks. This is a day shift Monday through Friday position with available overtime. The position provides an excellent wage and benefits package with an opportunity for advancement. A valid driver's license from your state of residence with appropriate endorsements and a clean driving record is required. Pre-employment background checks and drug tests are required. Must be able to do moderately strenuous work, including but not limited to the ability to lift over 75 pounds and endure long periods of standing/walking as well as continuous strenuous activities such as frequent reaching, bending, or lifting. You must be able to work in severe weather conditions, both heat and cold, be able to stand / sit for extended periods, regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move as part of normal work activities. You may be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils. Responsibilities
Perform routine, preventative, diagnostic, and repair maintenance on all Company equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner. Complete a wide range of major, minor, and routine repairs on heavy equipment or heavy vehicles. Be capable of repeating the same or similar tasks multiple times in a day. Comply with all company policies that impact job, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazard communication. Candidate Qualities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Conflict resolution skills Excellent time management skills Knowledge of basic math and computer skills Maintain detailed and accurate service records and documentation Communicate with peers, managers, internal customers (drivers) and vendors to explain problems and possible solutions Strong verbal, written, or electronic communication skills Ability to read/write/interpret directions Experience with specialized machinery (forklifts, loaders, hoists, plant equipment) and understanding of machines (skid steers, aerial booms, etc.) Must possess own hand tools Operate basic shop tools including welders, torches, impact wrenches, grinders, ladders, and other equipment Perform tire changes and maintenance Strong knowledge of health and safety standards Commitment to personal safety and adherence to company safety guidelines Requirements
Daily inspection of the lot to verify equipment condition and identify potential out-of-service items Interacting with fleet manager, drivers, batch men, and operation and production personnel General knowledge of engine scanning systems Experience on International, Kenworth, Mack, Sterling, Western Star trucks is desirable Experience with end dump and pneumatic trailers is desirable Experience with DPF systems, electrical systems, air systems, fuel systems & brake systems required Must be able to troubleshoot Maintains a safe and clean work area Must be motivated, a self-starter, productive and efficient Order parts as needed and maintain inventory control Welding & fabrication skills and experience required Perform repairs on fleet equipment in yard and on the road Maintain repair orders including labor hours, parts used, and general comments May require travel to plant locations based on needs Will perform other duties as assigned by management personnel Diesel Mechanic Role Summary
A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining multiple types of diesel-powered equipment. Duties include adjusting equipment, repairing or replacing defective parts, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using testing equipment, and cleaning or performing maintenance work Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work Perform daily fleet maintenance tasks and inspections as required Perform preventative maintenance inspections using mechanic tools and shop equipment Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance and determine course of action for damaged parts Diagnose mechanical issues using computerized systems or testing equipment Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, replace worn-out parts, and service hydraulic, electrical, and other systems Use computerized equipment along with cutting torches and hand tools Test drive trucks before and after repairs as needed Diagnose mechanical issues across brakes, cab, drive train, electrical systems, emissions, engine, frame, HVAC, PTO, hydraulics, steering, suspension, tires, and wheels Technical certifications and a CDL are desirable
