Human Resources Assistant – Peak Performers Join to apply for the Human Resources Assistant role at Peak Performers.

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Human Resources Assistant. This role supports an established HR team and involves a combination of time & attendance administration, employee record maintenance, onboarding support, and general HR clerical functions. This position is part of an ongoing operational initiative supporting time & attendance and HR process improvement. While project‑focused in nature, the work is continuous, and permanent opportunities may become available within the same team, though placement cannot be guaranteed.

Who You Will Be Working With A regional office of a New York State agency that integrates teaching, research and therapeutic approaches to the care of patients with mental illness.

Major Duties Time & Attendance Administration

Assist with maintenance of time & attendance records, including printing and distributing employee sign‑in/sign‑out sheets and producing employee timesheets.

Review and audit SharePoint databases to confirm timely, complete, and accurate submission of employee calendars and timesheets.

Process employee calendars in SharePoint to generate timesheets and assist with documentation of missing, late, or deficient submissions.

Communicate with employees and supervisors regarding time & attendance requirements, corrections, and follow‑up as needed.

Assist with audits and documentation related to time & attendance processes and associated software.

Employee Records & HR Support

Assist with employee probation reports and annual evaluation maintenance, including auditing employee files and coordinating outreach to supervisors and department heads.

Support onboarding of new employees by obtaining, reviewing, processing, organizing, and filing required documentation.

Provide clerical and administrative support to HR staff, including scheduling, answering and directing phone calls, organizing and filing documents, and collecting and distributing mail.

Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned in support of HR operations.

What We’re Looking For

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed, process‑driven work.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with data entry and document review.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); SharePoint experience is helpful but not required.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Comfortable communicating with employees and supervisors in a professional office environment.

Prior experience with administrative, HR support, payroll, or time & attendance functions is helpful but not required.

Willingness to learn agency‑specific systems and procedures (training will be provided).

Exciting Opportunity Details

Rate: $25.00/hr.

Length of engagement: ASAP through July 31, 2026 (with potential for extension and consideration for permanent roles as they become available).

Days/Hours: Monday–Friday | Preferred 8:30 AM–4:30 PM (some flexibility available).

Location: New York, NY (10032).

Hours: 37.5 hours/week.
