Applus+ Keystone, a regulatory compliance test lab located in New Castle, PA, is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician. This role supports the calibration, maintenance, and basic repair of thermal and environmental test chambers used for regulatory testing.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive maintenance on environmental chambers and associated systems, including filter replacement, mechanical inspections, leak checks, and cleaning procedures.

Assist with temperature and humidity sensor installations, controller verifications, and basic calibration activities.

Support temperature uniformity and stability checks under the supervision of a senior technologist.

Assist in identifying and resolving basic mechanical or electrical issues related to chamber performance.

Set up and break down chambers and test fixtures as needed for scheduled laboratory work.

Maintain accurate logs of maintenance, calibration, and service activities in compliance with internal quality standards.

Work with the senior technologist to coordinate service schedules and respond to downtime issues.

Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and chamber documentation as part of troubleshooting or maintenance processes.

Follow all lab safety procedures when working with electrical, refrigerant, or high-temperature systems.

Participate in technician training, quality audits, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in HVAC, Electronics, or Mechanical Technology preferred.

3–5 years of experience in HVAC service, mechanical/electrical maintenance, or environmental testing support roles.

Familiarity with environmental chamber systems, refrigeration basics, electrical safety, and general HVAC operation.

Understanding of temperature and humidity control principles and related instrumentation is preferred.

Willingness to learn calibration practices per ISO 17025 and work in an accredited test lab environment.

Basic proficiency with computers and maintenance tracking software.

Able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in standing or kneeling positions for extended periods.
