Overview
The Associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations, acquiring and maintaining knowledge of products represented, preparing, serving, and breaking down product, equipment and supplies, intercepting consumers to demonstrate products in a professional manner, and maintaining a consistent professional appearance.
Pay rate: $13.75/hour
Responsibilities
Gain adequate knowledge of the products represented.
Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell product to the consumer in a positive manner.
Effectively communicate the features and benefits of the product.
Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
Maintain a clean, sterile and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the requirements of the job.
Properly set up and prepare the event table for execution.
Achieve 100% execution on assigned work.
Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to effectively meet company and client objectives.
Complete expense reports as per Company Policy.
Accurately prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
Access the internet, navigate through the company’s electronic systems, use Microsoft Outlook, and view assigned documents, including Microsoft Word & Adobe PDF forms.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in using personal computer or mobile device applications and internal systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Local Food Handlers permit may be required.
Physical Demands:
The associate will be regularly required to stand and walk during the shift, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms up to 65 inches overhead, talk and hear, read instructions, stoop, kneel, squat, climb or step up ladders, balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds), push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies and product, prepare foods and beverages using required appliances such as cooking utensils, knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwave, and be in contact with cleaning supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Work Environment:
Retail store environment with limited travel.
Physical Appearance:
Must ensure professional appearance and proper grooming in accordance with the retailer’s dress code.
Language Skills:
English is the primary language skill; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
