Facilities Maintenance / Water Technician - 2nd Shift Tuesday to Saturday
Purified Water Technicians are responsible for maintaining all facility purified water systems in good working condition, including adding and adjusting chemical levels, making online adjustments, verifying that the system is producing water within current USP specifications, recording and filling the critical parameters of the plant, and maintaining GMP documentation.
Schedule 2nd Shift 3:30pm – 12:00am, Tuesday to Saturday
Essential Functions
Day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of all purified water generation, storage, and distribution systems.
Support the micro department for water sampling as required.
Replenish chemicals in auto‑dosing tanks, adjust chemical levels, remove and clean chemical holding tanks every 72 hours.
Mop the room floor daily and clean and wipe down the entire system daily.
Prepare chemicals (anti‑scaling, SMBS, & NAOH); empty and refill storage and transfer tanks as needed.
Communicate any out‑of‑spec issues to supervisors and inform all end‑user departments.
Perform sanitization of the system as scheduled or as needed.
Check alarm screens for warnings and attend to issues immediately; log all readings.
Check printed reports for issues and address them immediately.
Ensure that critical supplies and spare parts are in stock and available, including dosing chemicals, printer paper, etc.
Additional Responsibilities
Knowledge of purified water plant operations.
Knowledge of current USP water standards.
Education
High School or GED – Required
Experience
2 years or more in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or purified water system experience.
Skills
Clear communication of system status changes and accurate recording of readings.
Inventory management of chemicals and supplies; collaboration with purchasing to ensure availability.
Specialized Knowledge
Purified water plant operations knowledge of current USP water standards.
