Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

– Safelite

We are an auto glass company focused on delivering high‑quality services. This trainee role will train and prepare you to become a proficient auto glass technician, eventually earning Safelite SafeTech certification.

Overview A Technician Trainee will be trained through a combination of hands‑on and classroom instruction. The trainee will learn to perform unsupervised glass repair, replacement, and recalibration while embodying the Safelite Spirit.

Responsibilities

Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way, through hands‑on and classroom training.

Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.

Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.

Provide additional services & products.

Study and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified technician.

Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Comply with all policies and standards.

What You’ll Get

Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24.00/hour after training and certification.

Earn $5 per set of wiper blades when added for customer safety.

Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.

Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.

Paid training and all tools and resources you’ll need.

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).

Valid state‑issued driver’s license (required).

Experience Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older (required).

Skills And Abilities

Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds (and occasionally up to 50 pounds).

Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all laws and camera‑based monitoring.

Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.

Work safely outside in varied weather conditions, including extremes.

Work with chemicals, including flammable substances, as required.

Flexible scheduling to accommodate customer needs.

Proficiency using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration.

Problem‑solving and collaboration under pressure.

Read, write, and interpret English and technical directions.

Communicate orally (phone) and in writing (computer).

Maintain professional appearance per dress code and PPE policies.

Willingness to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure.
