Maintenance Technician, 1st Shift

Job Description
Disassemble machines and take off parts for replacement or repair using cranes, hoists, chain falls, hand tools, and jacks.
Examine or carry out tasks on broken machine parts, identify defective parts, and give recommendations to supervisors on repair requirements.
Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications.
Put machine parts together after completing maintenance and repair work.
Assist other maintenance team members in meeting department requirements while serving as a resource to production, engineering, and other plant personnel. Other individual maintenance craft knowledge is considered a plus.
Work independently with little supervision.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning machines.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of hydraulic systems and mastery in troubleshooting using deductive reasoning and schematics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Electrical controls awareness is a plus.
Knowledge of machine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, blueprint reading, and (welding and fabrication) operation of machine tools used to make, modify, and/or repair machine components.
Experience and knowledge in maintaining and repairing injection presses.
3+ years of prior manufacturing experience
Journeyman's Card is preferred
Ability to effectively work and communicate as part of a cell team
While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing PPE (personal protection equipment). Following all basic safety precautions will reduce the risk of potential injury. The position requires light to moderate physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time, as well as some lifting.
