Position Summary The Assembler uses blueprints and hand tools to build conveyor products.
Responsibilities
Performing assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions
Following supervisors’ instructions of work to be performed
Self-inspecting work to ensure quality and compliance to specifications
Using computer to record assembly status
Following safety instructions and rules
Working overtime and assigned shifts as needed
Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures
Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
Education and Experience Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1 year of machine assembly experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and understand complex blueprints and assembly drawings
Basic computer knowledge
Basic math skills
Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Team orientation
Crane operation experience preferred but not required
Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
ADA Requirements
Medium work exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Stooping, bending the body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
Standing, remaining upright on the feet for sustained periods
Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks
Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally
Fingering, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers
Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm
Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects by touching with skin
Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word
Hearing, perceiving sounds at normal levels and receiving detailed information through oral communication
Repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Visual acuity to perform activities such as data analysis, reading, inspection, and use of measurement devices
Job Conditions
Indoor environment; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
Hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and other typical manufacturing risks
Exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
Exposure to oils and cutting fluids
Ability to function in narrow aisles or passageways
Salary: USD $18.00 - $22.00
