Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up manufacturing equipment (e.g., CNC machines, presses, assembly lines) for production runs.
Install, align, and adjust tooling, fixtures, dies, and other components according to specifications.
Perform first-piece inspections and conduct quality checks to ensure product specifications are met after setup.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical, electrical, or programming issues during setup and initial production.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance and calibration on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Document setup parameters, procedures, and any modifications for future reference and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with production operators, engineers, and supervisors to optimize setup times and production efficiency.
Recommended Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, set up, and adjust manufacturing machinery.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions.
Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) and quality control procedures.
Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with PLC programming or industrial automation systems.
Proficiency in CAD software for reviewing designs or creating simple fixtures.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Certifications in specialized areas such as welding, advanced machining, or hydraulics.
