The role includes various physical requirements and the ability to distinguish all colors, and to work aloft from ladders, platforms, poles, and bucket trucks. Splicing fiber optic cable large and small counts and ribbon fiber Light labor including lifting manhole covers and barricading open manholes Working with ISP/OSP terminations Working in, from and around hand-holes and manholes Qualifications
19 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company 2 or more years of fiber splicing experience Knowledge of hot cuts and solid OTDR testing Ribbon splicing knowledge preferred Experience in reading and interpreting outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work prints Additional Qualifications (if Applicable)
Working knowledge of direct termination of fiber‑optic connectors including mechanical, anaerobic, epoxy polish, heat cured as well as pigtail splicing methods Working knowledge of ISP/OSP fiber optics terminations in splicing products in regard to appropriate application Working knowledge of analog and digital transmission Physical Abilities & Exposures
Routinely: Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, climb sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift. Occasionally: Employees performing these job functions may be required to lift or move up to 10 up to 50 pounds. About Us
