Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Manual Machinist at PACIFIC COAST MFG., based in Bakersfield, CA. The Manual Machinist will be responsible for operating manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines. Additional tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, measuring and inspecting finished components to ensure accuracy, performing routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Collaboration with the team to meet project deadlines and quality standards is an essential part of the role.
Qualifications
Proficiency in operating manual machining tools, including lathes, milling machines
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Attention to detail and commitment to achieving high-quality results
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Willingness to adhere to safety standards and maintain a tidy workspace
Previous experience in a machining environment is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training is a plus
