Production Worker (Advanced Manufacturing Workcell – 3rd Shift) Howmet Engines is a world‑class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. Howmet Dover Casting and Howmet Dover Alloy supply state‑of‑the‑art components made from superalloys, investment castings and other high‑technology materials for the aerospace, gas turbine, medical and industrial markets.

We are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Workcell operator to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. Work hours are Monday – Friday 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm; training will occur on the 1st shift Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Hourly pay: $24.79 at hire; $27.35 after 12 months. The position also receives a shift premium for off‑shift assignments.

Job Summary Responsibilities include environmental health & safety duties, operation of advanced machining and inspection equipment, and ensuring high‑quality castings are produced.

Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities

Assist implementation of EHS value and policy statements

Comply with corporate, regulatory and facility EH&S regulations

Wear all required personal protective equipment

Report job‑related illness, injury, and safety concerns to supervisor promptly

Attend required EH&S training

Position Overview / Essential Job Functions

Run water jets; 4‑/5‑axis CNCs; rise‑and‑fall grinders; super polish machines

Load and setup tooling (fixtures) and castings into 6‑point nests and verify fitment

Setup and operate vibratory equipment

Use a profilometer to inspect surface finish per job instruction

Sieve media as instructed to maintain optimal quality

Perform 100% inspection as required

Set tools (end mills) correctly

Identify fixture wear and tooling wear

Follow product criteria to ensure quality castings

Adjust feed rates, speeds and offsets to correct non‑conforming castings

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

Access to export‑controlled items required; applicant must be able to lawfully obtain access

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Dover, NJ (no relocation benefit offered)

Preferred Knowledge

Ability to read product blueprints

Experience with CNCs, including milling high‑performance super alloys

1‑3 years in an engineering or manufacturing environment

Experience evaluating automated equipment, processes and solving related issues

Other Skills / Abilities

Experience in a production environment

Familiar with TPM

Good oral and written communication skills

PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel

Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude

Experience using industrial controllers

Methodical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and related issues

Organized with discipline to implement permanent solutions
