Transportation Coordinator – El Paso, TX (On‑Site) at VetJobs.

seeks a skilled professional to oversee transportation services delivered to government contracts, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, prioritize, and adjust transportation work (daily to long term).
Assign staff to tasks, monitor performance, and establish standards.
Oversee fleet management – maintenance, safety, inspections, DOT and ELD compliance.
Monitor delivery of services, evaluate methods, and implement improvements.
Analyze reports manually and via automated systems; recommend operational changes.
Plan routes and load schedules for multi‑drop deliveries.
Allocate and track resources in the transport planning system.
Communicate with clients and respond to requirements.
Supervise, instruct, and coordinate transportation and stationary guard activities.
Review and adjust team assignments; match teams to workload.
Ensure vehicle and equipment checks by depot supervisors and officers.
Provide weekly status reports to Program Manager.
Investigate incidents/accidents, submit reports, and coordinate follow‑ups.
Coordinate detainee transport per DHS/ICE directives.
Document all detainee transports; provide necessary equipment and safety kits.
Address safety‑related transportation issues promptly; remove vehicles until repaired.
Maintain compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation and Texas DOT regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, or equivalent experience (3‑5 years managerial).
High School/GED required.
U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted resident, 5 years in U.S.
Pass criminal background and credit check (no record).
Obtain/maintain DHS/ICE clearance.
Pass pre‑employment and random drug tests.
Minimum 21 years old.
Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing).
Accurate preparation of incident narratives and reports.
Maintain required medical/physical testing standards.
Judgment and discretion in first response situations.
Proficiency in securing and controlling detainees per training and policy.
Professional appearance, calm demeanor, discretion with confidential information.
Integrity, accountability, adherence to DHS ICE National Detention Standards 2025.
Ability to work with diverse populations and cross‑cultural perspectives.
Supervise transportation support staff (fleet management, dispatchers).
