Base pay range $18.50/hr - $19.00/hr

What We’re Searching For Qualified Sit-Down Forklift Operator/Material Handler to assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to the truck drivers and the production floor. Strong organizational, teamwork, dependability, accountability, and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How You Will Contribute

Complete and document a sit-down forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating a new forklift.

Verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.

Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials.

Ensure that all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift’s production run.

Must ensure that all materials being removed from a production line are accurately recorded on the correct form, and that all materials have been properly banded and/or wrapped to ensure that they will “hold up” in the warehouse.

Performs periodic routine maintenance checks on the lifts. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.

Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments.

Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets.

Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport.

Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas.

Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.

Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

Adhere to daily production schedule.

Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

Additional duties may be assigned by management.

What It Takes

High school diploma or GED.

2+ years’ experience as forklift operator in production or distribution environment.

Able to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
