Flynn Group entered the Panera system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, we have more than tripled in size to become the second‑largest Panera franchisee in the world and continue to grow by building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators.
Flynn Panera is a franchisee of Panera Bread, operating within a decentralized business model. Each geographic area is led by a Market Leader, who reports to Area Directors. Area Directors and General Managers oversee the overall running of the cafés. Assistant Managers, such as this role, are responsible for running departments and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Position Description Our Panera Bread cafés are upscale, friendly cafés featuring baked breads, pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. This manager position focuses on creating a grease‑ and alcohol‑free environment, with no late nights and a focus on morning shift efficiency.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide outstanding leadership to the team and inspire high performance.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, safety, and facility management.
Oversee business performance: ordering, scheduling, labor management, marketing, bakery operations, and catering.
Analyze sales and profitability, and develop plans for sustained profitability.
Recruit, train, and develop staff to meet staffing and performance goals.
Manage a budget and control costs while coordinating scheduled shifts.
Ensure exceptional customer service, greeting guests, and conducting table visits.
Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews and documentation.
Serve as the primary resource for associate questions and operational guidance.
Education and Experience
At least 2–3 years of hospitality management experience.
A degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or hotel/restaurant management (preferred).
Food management certifications are a plus.
Demonstrated “Run it Like You Own It” mentality.
