The Parts Division Euclid Valve Shop is seeking an experienced Operational Leader. This position will work as a “Front Line Product Leader” to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on areas of responsibility. They will influence process and planning decisions with knowledge and explanations of manufacturing flow parts. Expected to take lead role on managing all aspects of the shop floor.
Duties & Responsibilities
Shop Floor Supervisor to teaching/coaching Machinists & Programmer
Promotes and Reinforces daily Safety/Quality
Teaching/Coaching/Training Machinists & Programmer
Managing Daily Work Flow
Supporting/Assessing needs for Job Preparation
Coordinates Machine Maintenance Equipment
Coordinate work schedules of primary team, to include time off and overtime.
Interfaces/Maintains Outsource Shop Support (Nitride, EDM, Grind, other)
Coordinates/Supports Shipping Schedules based on monthly production schedule
Assists/provides feedback on development Shop Schedule and Quoting to Manufacturing Manager.
Position Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
5+ years related experience in machining or manufacturing environment or combination of education and
Experience with machining, programming (M&G code), and Cam software (Gibbs); High Temperature alloy experience a plus.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and members of the business community. Ability to professionally communicate (verbal & written) with all members of the workforce.
Ability to ability to apply mathematical concepts for elements of supervisory oversight to machinist and assistance in planning/tracking of core goals to the manufacturing manager
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Including interpreting an extensive variety of information and data and dealing with variables.
Time & project management regarding workflow/scheduling through business objectives.
Knowledge of MS Office packages; e-mail; presentations; flow charts, etc. ERP System (EPICOR) & Project Management skills desired.
Prioritizes safety and ensures all EHS procedures align with company values.
Promotes and fosters a team environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Standing for extended periods
Frequent Mobility and Flexibility Communicate effectively in an industrial setting
Work extended hours as needed
Lift 25-50 lbs.
In addition, the candidate must occasionally work in an environment that contains toxic or caustic chemicals and may be exposed to a loud industrial setting. Therefore, adherence to MD&A Safety Program and customer safety procedures is a basic and critical requirement, including the appropriate use of required personal protection equipment.
