Job Description (Summary) Communication Planning is how our brand approaches our customers, determining how, when, and where to intersect with their worlds. Communication Planners bridge the gap between business, internal stakeholders, and customers, using analytics and marketing technology to identify audience priorities, craft messages, and guide audiences through every step of their journey. With our channel and creative partners, we architect omni‑channel plans that fuel our brand and inspire content that drives business results.
Responsibilities
Lead communication strategies for campaigns, focusing on audience engagement and progression through the consumer journey.
Present clear recommendations to leadership for approval and implementation.
Support the communication needs of the business and drive creative innovation across all channels to ensure a healthy consumer journey.
Adapt segment and communication strategies into channel‑level tactical plans that communicate the "why" and "what" to channel teams for planning, execution, and performance optimization.
Translate audience journeys into aligned channel strategies and digital touchpoints across Paid, Owned, and Earned channels.
Distill audience insights into actionable messages to optimize the audience journey.
Organize and lead workshops, brainstorms, and tactical sessions for integrated communication plans.
Monitor, test, and evolve audience segment journeys to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in achieving business goals.
Develop integrated marketing campaigns using creative briefs and campaign planning documents.
Recommend content that builds audience engagement and drives revenue.
Utilize creative briefs and campaign planning documents to connect the Universal Studios Hollywood brand and products to the consumer.
Utilize channel KPIs to drive media and communication effectiveness, continuously optimizing audience segment journeys.
Collaborate with project management and creative teams to define campaign scopes and ensure high‑quality deliverables.
Maintain attention to detail and accountability to minimize revisions and keep projects on track, even under tight schedules.
Continuously keep leadership and partners informed of campaign updates, changes, and issues, ensuring successful project execution and delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university is required; majors in Media, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or other related fields are preferred.
4+ years in the consumer goods, entertainment, travel, or theme park industry preferred.
Ability to think strategically and conceptually.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence others at all organizational levels and demonstrated ability to work directly with internal departments toward issue resolution.
Strong track record meeting targets and objectives while working in a deadline‑oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage a large volume of complex work effectively and efficiently while paying attention to details.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Solid understanding of consumer and brand research.
Digital and technical savvy, including experience working on web/app, CRM, social media initiatives; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite is recommended; Workfront experience is a plus.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays to assist with event execution inside the theme park or CityWalk as needed.
Hybrid: This position is designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. Subject to change to full‑time as required.

Must be creative, organized, and great at getting along with and inspiring others.
