The HFMG Manager, Laboratory Medicine & Pathology provides overall leadership of the assigned laboratory, and accountable to all its functions, processes, regulatory requirements and operations. Supports Health First’s System Director, Laboratory Medicine & Pathology on execution of Health First’s Mission and Vision. Effectively manage resources of the Laboratory. Note:

Manages daily operations of the laboratory, consistent with the mission & vision of Health First Inc. Focuses the delivery of laboratory services to be ‘patient-centric’ providing excellent and compassionate care to our community. In partnership with laboratory medical director, accountable to all accreditation agencies ensuring the laboratory’s successful compliance with its regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, FL State, AABB, OSHA, etc.) Maintains a safe work environment for laboratory staff, as outlined by various accreditation agencies. Develops collaborative relationships with inter-professional departments and ongoing partnership with other managers, supervisors and other members of Health First leadership team to ensure organization’s goals is met. Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact productively and effectively with associates, leaders, clinicians, staff and customers. Shows commitment to culture “Continuous Quality Improvement” through incorporation of evidenced based laboratory medicine, benchmarking and implementation of recommended guidelines. Fiscally manages assigned laboratory department within the allotted resources. Serves and performs all functions of a CLIA general supervisor for the laboratory in all sections of responsibility. In collaboration with Human Resources, provides active supervisory mentorship, guidance and support for all laboratory associates. Holds self and others accountable bydeveloping an effective team of laboratory professionals inside and outside of the laboratory. Engages laboratory associates with constant and proactive communication of departmental goals, wins, ongoing projects, and changes within the Health First Laboratory via staff meetings, huddles, emails, rounding and other forms of communication. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical/Clinical Lab Science, or any related field, as outlined by CLIA. Work Experience: Five (5) years clinical laboratory experience. Two (2) years of lab supervisory experience. Licensure: Medical Technologist by State of Florida and in accordance with CLIA. Certification: None Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Strong time management skills. Proficient in human relations and interpersonal communication. Effective organizational communication skills. Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving. Competent in computer skills and technology use. Knowledgeable in quality assurance and quality control procedures. Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s Degree (MS, MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent). Work Experience: Prior experience supervising hospital laboratories, outpatient laboratory operations. Prior experience as a lab manager. Licensure: Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP Certification: MLS(ASCP) also formerly known as MT(ASCP), and/or MT(AAB), MT/MLS(AMT), Specialist Certification by ASCP (SBB, SC, SH, etc.). Physical Requirements

Able to endure >8 hour workday in periods of high demand. Pass color blindness test. Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform clinical/technical tasks. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. unassisted Benefits
