Position Overview The Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance operations at the facility, ensuring all equipment and systems function efficiently and effectively. The role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating maintenance activities, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance. This role involves 24‑hour responsibilities for all maintenance activities at the site.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the maintenance team, providing guidance, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan.
Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs while ensuring quality and efficiency.
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability while minimizing waste.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
Plan and manage maintenance projects, including upgrades, installations, and renovations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, performance metrics, and compliance with regulations.
Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support overall operational goals.
Develop individualized training plans for leads and key maintenance personnel to further their development.
Set an example in engagement and values that align with 1440, fostering collaboration across operations.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general facility maintenance.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
3+ years of proven experience in maintenance management or related field.
Work Environment
Exposure to both office setting and food manufacturing facility.
Significant time on manufacturing floor; must wear required PPE.
Primarily 1st shift with flexible hours to cover all three shifts as business needs.
Adherence to all GMPs in a food manufacturing facility.
Weekend and holiday work required to support shutdowns and maintenance activities.
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform repetitive motions, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
Noise levels vary; higher noise levels in plant operations areas.
