Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Team Lead. The schedule for this role will be Friday–Sunday, with hours from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.92 per hour. This position is eligible for the variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only; salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do In the Team Leader role, you will work with the Fabrication Supervisor to drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. You will provide leadership by promoting teamwork, training others, and providing proactive resolution to production needs.

Essential Functions

Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing and assigning 5S duties.

Work directly with the supervisor and manufacturing team to ensure that customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner and that the most urgent orders are fulfilled first.

Review orders and associated documentation (drawings, travel documents, bills of material) as needed to ensure the team has the appropriate information to complete the job and assist with troubleshooting problems with the order documentation.

Provide clear direction and guidance to the department, aligning team efforts with organizational goals.

Oversee production processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.

Conduct spot checks to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.

Facilitate training and cross‑training for associates to enhance knowledge and versatility.

Work with the coordinator and be able to complete coordinator tasks if needed.

Lead Tier 1 meetings, work with the team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and make daily updates to Tier boards.

Communicate with other shift leads and/or supervisors to ensure a smooth transition of tasks and job updates.

Act as a back‑up Supervisor when needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations, assist in interviewing candidates for the designated area, and provide feedback to associates regarding productivity, breaks, etc.

Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 2–3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience.

Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts.

Experience using various tools, including work instructions, forklift, and measuring tape.

Prior work experience with a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

Ability to stand for extended periods of time; repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting are inherent to this position.

No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 mi) will be considered.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous coordinator/team leader experience is strongly preferred.

Prior experience with AS400, VISTA, and DMM computer programs.

Ability to work with both internal and external customers in managing changing schedules.

Experience working independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities.

Self‑motivated and results‑oriented.

Strong organizational skills.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 lb and push/pull up to or greater than 35 lb. Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. The employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.

Additional Information Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.

Work Environment The employee is regularly exposed to noise and dust.
