This opportunity is for an experienced Step-Down Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a progressive care unit, focusing on high-acuity patients. The role is based in Liberty, MO, offering a contract position with 12-hour night shifts designed for practitioners who excel in critical care environments. Location Overview:Liberty, Missouri, is a welcoming community known for its historic charm and suburban comfort. Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715) Every other weekend required Work on major holidays with schedule accommodations Orientation Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the step-down unit Monitor and manage complex clinical conditions, including those requiring arterial lines and high-acuity drips Implement care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Respond promptly to patient changes using advanced clinical skills such as BiPAP and Airvo management Comply with facility policies and maintain a nicotine-free environment Qualifications: Current RN license with at least 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Certification in ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS certification preferred Experience with arterial lines, high-acuity drips, and respiratory support devices (BiPAP, Airvo) is highly desirable Ability to float to lesser acuity units as needed Must be able to work night shifts, every other weekend, and major holidays New graduates will not be considered for this role Additional Details: Bi-weekly pay schedule Contract position with flexibility and professional growth opportunities Orientation provided prior to start to ensure smooth transition The client may cancel one shift per pay period with adequate notice Candidates eager to contribute their critical care nursing expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment are encouraged to apply.
