Location & Schedule

Boston, MA – 30 to 35 hours per week with flexibility for hybrid/remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients.
  • Lead financial reporting for management and board decision making.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies.
  • Conduct transactional activities: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
  • Create analysis, data visualizations, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage grant reporting, allocations, and funder reporting.
  • Prepare for and manage the annual audit.
  • Deliver client and staff training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about working in or supporting nonprofit organizations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in a remote environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients independently and respond promptly.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with multiple general ledger packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems.
  • Public accounting or consulting experience is a plus.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Customized cover letter explaining interest and qualifications is required.
