Ascent Behavioral Hospital is seeking a Clinical Director for our Millcreek, UT location to lead and oversee our team of licensed therapists while ensuring excellence across the full continuum of care—from admission through discharge and transition to the next level of treatment. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead, develop, and set the clinical vision for our Clinical Department. In this role, you will work alongside and provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to a multidisciplinary team of licensed therapists. As a key member of the hospital’s Leadership Team, the Clinical Director is responsible not only for day-to-day clinical operations, but also for ensuring thoughtful, timely, and coordinated discharge planning as an integral component of treatment.
The Clinical Director will oversee the development and execution of individualized treatment plans that emphasize stabilization, family engagement, and readiness for discharge. This includes collaborating closely with psychiatry, nursing, case management, families, schools, and external providers to ensure safe transitions, appropriate aftercare placement, and continuity of services following hospitalization. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage clinical risk, resolve conflicts, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
The ultimate objective of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of the Clinical Department while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that promotes stabilization during hospitalization and supports successful continuation of care beyond discharge.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the clinical team
Ensure workloads are at efficient and effective levels
Carry a responsible caseload
Conduct regular team meetings
Participate in all Leadership and Clinical Team meetings
Assist clinicians in developing a strong professional brand
Know, articulate clearly, and practice Ascent Behavioral Hospital's treatment philosophy
Oversee the delivery of clinical services and aftercare planning for clients and families
Oversee research and outcomes initiatives
Ensure that families are receiving support throughout the stabilization process
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team
Work collaboratively with direct care staff, including the provision of training with these staff
Participate in marketing activities, including occasional travel
Develop and maintain relationships with referring professionals

Advanced degree in a mental health field and qualified to supervise intern or associate therapists
25+ years of age
2+ years of Hospital or RTC experience
2+ years clinical experience
Licensed with Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing
DOPL license is unrestricted and in good standing
Able to pass criminal investigation background check
Eligible to work in the USA
Able to pass motor vehicle record checks
Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
First Aid and CPR certified (we may provide)
Crisis intervention certified (we may provide)
