About the Role This position supports senior leadership by taking on essential supervisor responsibilities, including coaching team members, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food, beverage, and service quality. As a liaison between the culinary and front‑of‑house teams, the Restaurant Supervisor helps drive the overall success of the outlet. As a key part of our service team, you will need to be available for a variety of shifts. Full availability is required to ensure we provide a great experience for our guests every day of the year. This includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities Guest Experience Leadership

Ensure guests receive warm, attentive, and consistent service across all dining venues.

Greet guests and team members with a positive, genuine attitude.

Lead by example on the floor, modeling professionalism and hospitality.

Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns promptly and gracefully.

Maintain a visible presence during service to support both guests and staff.

Team Supervision & Training

Oversee daily activities of servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.

Train new team members on service standards, safety procedures, and hotel policies.

Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to maintain high performance and morale.

Operational Excellence

Assist with scheduling, shift planning, and labor‑cost management.

Monitor floor operations for cleanliness, organization, and adherence to brand standards.

Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow.

Quality & Compliance

Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.

Ensure compliance with local health regulations and internal policies.

Conduct regular inspections of dining areas, equipment, furniture and service stations.

Financial & Administrative Support

Assist with inventory control, order sheets, counting, and stock rotation.

Support the Food & Beverage Manager with daily reports, cash handling, and cost‑control initiatives.

Help implement promotions, special events, and upselling strategies to drive revenue.

Oversee Food & Beverage operations during special events, ensuring seamless service and proper staffing.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, culinary team, and other hotel departments.

Participate in pre‑shift briefings and weekly department meetings.

Hold associates accountable for performance and adherence to standards.

The salary range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00. This is the range for this position that Andaz San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Qualifications

2 years of F&B Operations experience required, with Lead experience preferred.

A genuine desire to serve others in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and relationship‑building abilities.

Fundamentals of food and beverage knowledge.

Availability for AM and PM shifts (typically 6:00 AM-6:00 PM and 2:00 PM-2:00 AM).

Ability to work weekends and holidays, as required in a hotel environment.

Understanding of Microsoft office systems including outlook/email, excel and word.

General knowledge of POS systems.
