Job Summary The Activities Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities desk agents. This role involves training, supervising, coaching, and leading the team to meet property goals, which include providing outstanding guest service and enhancing employee engagement. The manager supervises and assists in selling tickets for activities at the Grand Teton Lodge Company locations and maintains accurate records. The manager works with various department heads to coordinate scheduled activities and special events and posts changes for the special events. Works with tour / groups that book activities and ensures all billing is posted correctly.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the Vail Resorts and Grand Teton Lodge Company Brand Standards are being followed in daily operations.
Lead, train, coach, discipline, and recognize employees with the goal of creating a supportive and high‑performing team. Monitor employee performance and appearance to ensure compliance with company standards.
Ensure all proper acknowledgment forms are completed by all guests attending activities, added correctly to guest reservations and payment is taken accordingly.
Ensure proper handling of the tour/group attending activities and posting billing to master accounts.
Perform department administrative functions, including payroll and scheduling.
Enforce policies and procedures as directed by the Rooms Division Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Hotel Operations, and the National Park Service.
Define policies, coordinate training, and troubleshoot problem areas associated with the activities portion of the Hotel Operations System, Visual One.
At the Jackson Lake Lodge location, work with transportation and provide a daily list of employees who signed up for the employee shuttle.
At the Colter Bay Marina location, also work with Osprey retail system to oversee marina store, manage inventory, place appropriate orders with vendors and oversee organization of stockroom and the floor.
Must strive to obtain all knowledge of the Grand Teton Lodge Company activities, lodging & dining and dining, including Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, and Jackson. At least 1-3 year guest‑facing hospitality role in a supervisory or management role.
1 year supervisory experience.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License, successful completion of MVR.
Good working knowledge of computers.
Strong verbal and written English skills.
Friendly, courteous personality, ability to relate well to guests and employees.
Ability to perform under pressure.
Qualifications Minimum Age: 18 years; Valid U.S. Driver’s License; Successful completion of Motor Vehicle Records (MVR); 1+ year supervisory experience in guest‑facing hospitality; good computer skills; strong verbal and written communication; friendliness, politeness and ability to perform under pressure; knowledge of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and related activities.
Compensation and Benefits Starting Wage: $44,000 for the season.
