Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay range: $16.00/hr – $18.00/hr
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
Recommend items for sale to customers and recommend trade‑up and/or companion items.
Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collect cash and give change as requested; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed; assist customers in locating products in the OTC aisle when possible.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, verifying medicines, checking for possible interactions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
Accept telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians.
Process and correct manual claims for third‑party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
Assist and support pharmacy department on inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals).
Maintain compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
Construct and maintain promotional and seasonal displays; complete resets and revisions as directed.
Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies and procedures.
Use store systems and equipment effectively.
Provide customer service in the photo area (digital passport photo, poster print, and creative machine).
Assume web pickup responsibilities (monitor orders, pick items, and deliver orders to customers).
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to keep store clean and orderly.
Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers; complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state required certification/registration.
Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or corporate, acquiring continuing education credits; maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions (counting, measuring, weighing medications).
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
