Part-Time Laboratory Courier (Carol Stream, IL)
IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Laboratory Courier position at its facility in Carol Stream, IL.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs above waist level
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs above waist level
A valid US driver’s license and clean driving record (including, at minimum, no accidents in the last 5 years) that meets/continues to meet motor vehicle risk standards, as verified through ongoing MVR monitoring
Job Responsibilities Laboratory Courier duties include: safely transporting samples from customers to the lab on a fixed schedule, cleaning and maintaining coolers for sample transport, media/sample preparation, sample sorting and log-in, sample testing steps (under supervision), compositing using aseptic technique, transcribing results, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, inventory control, and other duties as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits The pay range for this position is $17 – $19.00 hourly. The shift for this position is part-time (30 hours/week), with a fixed schedule (operating hours are Monday – Friday, from 1:00pm – 7:00pm). This position will be eligible for the following benefits: paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours annually) and 401(k) (with up to 3% employer match after eligibility criteria are met). Part-time employees may be eligible for medical insurance after 6 months if working more than 30 hours/week on average during an initial 5-month measurement period.
