Part-Time | Dallas Mavericks Merchandise Department
Job Overview The Dallas Mavericks are looking for qualified applicants to experience a professional work environment by assisting with the Merchandise Team’s special events and seasonal projects. This includes helping with popup stores/events, inventory and warehouse organization, merchandising efforts, photoshoots, customer service, and other special projects across the DFW metroplex.
Essential Job Functions The Seasonal Merchandise Assistant will assist with a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Day-to-Day Operations: Assistwith general merchandise department requests and daily tasksincluding both buying and website related tasks.
Help withpolybaggingclothing, folding, steaming, hanging, and counting inventory.
Assistwith special arena, website, warehouse, photoshoot, and other retail operations.
Help with travel to various warehouses and retail locations for special projects.
Event & Pop-Up Support: Assistwith the set-up and breakdown of events
PlazaLaunch Parties– Assist with event preparation, merchandise setup, and day-of execution.
Additional Popsup/ Playoff Pop-Ups – Help with the setup and execution of all playoff-related retail activations.
Order Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations Assistwith order packing in collaboration with the third-partylogisticsteam to ensuretimelyfulfillment.
Help with conducting physical inventory counts (2000+ units) to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing merchandise.
Photoshoot Support Assistwith steaming apparel to ensure garments are camera-ready and wrinkle-free
Multiple Photoshoots throughout the season: 250+ samples each
Help with hanging product samples tomaintainvisual consistency and workflow efficiency.
Assistwith on-sitelogistics, timing, and troubleshooting during shoots to ensure smooth execution.
Customer Service Customerserviceassistanceneeded during peak season times
Assistthe Customer Service Representative byproviding responsive support during high-traffic retail periods (e.g.product launches, playoff campaigns, playertradesand drafts).
Help with answeringticketswithin24 hourresponse policy
Assistwith manually entering dropship jersey orders into Excel and organizing invoice PDFs.
Assistwith reviewing unfulfilled orders to document reasons for non-fulfillment.
Systems & Inventory Management Assistwith managing product and inventory systems:
Arena POS / Inventory System
Help with entering andmaintainingproduct data for 150+ items.
Assistwith generating purchase orders to support vendor procurement.
Web POS / Inventory System
Help with uploading and categorizing200+new itemsfor e-commerce and retail tracking.
Assistwith creating andmaintainingmerchandising books for internal use and vendor presentations.
Help with organizing and managing the sample closet:
Logging samples by vendor, date received, category, and internal approval dates.
Assistwith preparing 50+ detailed buy sheets for seasonal assortment planning:
Help with setting up buy sheets, inserting images, vendor codes, categories, and price points.
Help with uploading item numbers intoarenaand web systems.
Skills & Abilities
Must have strong organization and prioritization skills.
Passionfor sports, merchandising, retail, and warehouse operations.
Ability to multi-task andassistwith multiple projects in a fast-paced, team environment.
Ability to take initiative andhelp with identifyingareas of improvement or support.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and Outlook toassistwith digital tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills to help with team collaboration and vendor/customer communication.
Ability to remain calm and customer-focused under pressure.
Detail-oriented, resourceful, anda proactiveteam player.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ability to assist with physically demanding tasks andlift upto 40 lbs.
Availability to help with seasonal shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
Ability toassistwith tasks at multiple locations within the DFW metroplex (reliable transportationrequired).
