At our plant in Cabot, VT milk from Vermont and a few New Hampshire farms is expertly crafted into Specialty VT Cheddars, Flavored and Light Cheeses and Cultured products as well as Greek-Style Yogurt, Cottage Cheese and Sour Cream and our looking to add full time Production Operators to our team.
We are seeking full-time Production Operator third shift. Under the direction of the Team lead and/ or Production Supervisor, this role is responsible for performing all work-related tasks using Good Manufacturing Practices by following the Food Safety and Food Quality requirements of the SQF program.
Position Purpose
The Cut & Wrap Crew Member works as part of a team to support cheese packaging operations. This role includes deboning, trim handling, feeding, weighing, bagging, case packing, and palletizing to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
Verify pallet identification to ensure correct product selection for each line and customer.
Remove boxes and forms from cheese products and store all materials neatly and properly.
Trim cheese blocks as needed due to surface defects.
Properly store trim, underweights, and other usable cheese in lined corrugated containers; accurately weigh, seal, and document origin.
Move products through packaging lines, including separating pieces and feeding checkweighers or packaging machines.
Accurately weigh cheese pieces, communicate variances, and make necessary adjustments prior to packaging.
Pack finished products into corrugated cartons according to company and customer expectations.
Palletize finished product, ensuring accurate counts, correct labeling, and complete required documentation.
Maintain pace with prescribed operating speeds.
When lines are down, assist with cleaning, sweeping, changeovers, and support other lines as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned, including preventative maintenance, plant and exterior cleanliness, painting, and relief coverage.
Position Requirements
Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Compliance with plant safety rules and company policies.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift up to 60lb
Ability to Bend, Stoop and Reach frequently
