Accommodations Coordinator (ARC)
Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) is excited to announce we are hiring. As an employee of this highly energetic and student-oriented center you will coordinate and implement accommodations to allow students full participation in classes offered by the University. The Accommodations Coordinator provides direct support to individuals with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Responsibilities
Prepares and organizes alternative text materials for students with a print disability, utilizing Word, Adobe, Braille, and OCR software.
Communicate with faculty, staff, and other departments to ensure we have the inaccessible materials in a timely manner.
Coordinates the placement of accessible furniture in the classrooms.
Facilitates note-taking services.
Assists with testing, scheduling, and administering exams/quizzes.
Provides general administrative assistance, including answering phone inquiries and assistance to walk-in students.
Supervises and trains student employees.
Ensures confidentiality of all accommodation-related information; maintains security of materials and other documentation related to accommodations.
Responsible for tracking data specific to each accommodation by semester and academic year, including assessment of accommodations to ensure consistency and quality of services for each student.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Attention to detail, organizing and coordinating skills.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork.
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
