Haul Truck Driver - 6 AM - 6 PM (Oil‑Dri Corporation of America)
Job Summary
Operate a truck to move material between plants, warehouses, facilities, docks, or the mine safely, obeying all Department of Transportation rules and regulations, including maintaining a current valid Georgia Class A Driver’s License.
Job Duties
Operate truck in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform pre‑operational equipment checks and monitor truck performance and gauges during operation.
Fuel and perform routine maintenance.
Load truck while staying in compliance with environmental and safety guidelines and regulations.
Utilize hand tools to make minor equipment adjustments.
Keep areas clean and free of clutter.
Follow all company, state, and federal safety policies, rules and regulations.
Read, comprehend, and act on SOPs, PWI, AIQ processes, and similar documents.
Other duties as assigned.
Act in accordance with WE CARE, participate in improvement activities.
Operate other heavy equipment (excavator, tractor, dozer, haul truck, backhoe, front‑end loader, etc.) after proper, documented training.
Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, processes, and procedures to uphold values and inherent to Oil‑Dri.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Licensure/Certification:
Two years of driving experience.
Clean DMV record—no points in the last three years.
Class A Driver’s license; Hazmat certification desirable.
Ability to safely operate trucks and heavy equipment.
Work Experience:
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Knowledge of hand tools.
Training:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Operate and control all necessary equipment to perform job functions.
Carry/lift 50 lb.
Physical endurance to withstand heavy physical labor occasionally required by the position.
Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, etc.) in a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
Must meet all physical requirements of the position.
Hire Rate: $23.05 with a CDL B or $24.47 with a CDL A
