About the Role: The Senior Assistant Warehouse Manager supports and oversees daily receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. This role serves as a key operational leader within the warehouse, managing people, processes, inventory flow, and system accuracy while acting as a delegate for the Warehouse Manager when needed.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring accurate transactions, system compliance, and process adherence
Control and manage the pass-through of product to our other facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
Own the Amazon-to-consumer business, including inventory flow, fulfillment accuracy, coordination with internal teams, and performance monitoring
Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures
Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling, assigning, and overseeing employees, and following up on work results
Oversee warehouse staff performance through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling results with the data storage system
Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing layout improvements, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and submitting requisitions for replacement
Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by following and monitoring security procedures and protocols
Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by enforcing adherence and escalating compliance needs to warehouse leadership
Contribute to overall team success by accomplishing related operational results as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Proven work experience managing warehouse operations and inventory
Expertise in warehouse procedures, best practices, and material handling processes
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage staff
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to safely handle materials using proper lifting techniques, pallet jacks, order pickers, and forklifts
Physical Demands
Continuous standing and lifting/lowering
Intermittent walking, use of hands/wrists, and bending/twisting
Occasional pushing, pulling, and crouching
Must be able to carry 1–40 pounds
