PC Technician FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Network & Systems Administrator

Physical Requirements Employee is regularly required to sit at a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to work in a confined area. Moderate noise level (business office with computers, phone and printers). Ability to lift 20 pounds on occasion. Stand, walk, kneel and bend.

Hours of Work 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday

Pay Range $19.60-26.63

Job Summary Provide end user technical support over the phone, remote support session or onsite visits. Answer support calls and log helpdesk tickets into tracking database. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware and software in a MS Windows environment. Troubleshoot network, printing and other peripheral equipment including Analog and VoIP phones.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required. Associates in Information Technology field is preferred.

COMPTIA A+ Certification or a minimum of two years of experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware, operating systems, and applications on desktop PC's and peripherals in a networked Windows 10 environment.

Knowledge of internet connectivity issues and TCP/IP network protocols are also desirable.

Must possess strong problem-solving skills and end-user support abilities.

Travel: Employee must have reliable transportation available.

Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Valid NYS Driver's License that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.

Major Responsibilities

Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain workstation PC's.

Provide desktop (end-user support) for Microsoft Office applications.

Monitor and answer help desk.

Enter help desk requests and resolutions into help desk tracking system.

Inventory PC's and related hardware.

Maintain software images for deployment.
