Position Summary The Inventory Order Picker Lead assists the Supervisor in managing the workload of all Order Pickers, provides training and mentoring to new employees, and performs departmental tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing the workload of team members by prioritizing and completing tasks.

Teach new hires how to perform inventory functions using voice headsets and scanners.

Verify accuracy and quality of inventory picks.

Inspect for damages or defects, record issues, and notify the supervisor.

Oversee and assist with picking orders according to location and description.

Maintain department databases, prepare routine reports, and file records.

Operate department material‑handling equipment and assist in routine equipment maintenance.

Follow departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous‑improvement initiatives, and safety rules.

Perform other work as related to the Inventory Department.

Comply with Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures to sustain process outputs that support continuous improvement and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Licensed forklift truck operator.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

Strong leadership skills.

Good computer skills.

Strong verbal communication skills.

Ability to read, write, and use basic math in English.

Strong organization and time‑management skills.

Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

ADA Requirements:

Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 lb occasionally, up to 50 lb frequently, up to 20 lb constantly to move objects.

Stooping: Bending forward with the spine at the waist.

Crouching: Bending the torso and legs.

Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.

Standing: Remaining upright for sustained periods.

Walking: Moving about on foot for long distances or between work sites.

Pushing: Applying steady force with the upper extremities.

Pulling: Using upper extremities to move objects.

Lifting: Raising objects from lower to higher positions or moving objects horizontally.

Talking: Expressing ideas verbally, often with clarity, volume, or speed.

Hearing: Understanding normal speaking levels, receiving detailed information orally, and discerning sound nuances.

Repetitive motions: Substantial movements of wrists, hands, and fingers.

Visual Acuity:

Close visual acuity for tasks such as data preparation, transcription, computer terminal work, extensive reading, and small‑defect inspection.

Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.

Visual acuity to assess work cleanliness, accuracy, and quality.

Job Conditions:

Inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather but not from temperature changes.

Outside environmental conditions: No protection from weather.

Hazards: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, scafolding, high places, high heat, chemicals.

Function in narrow aisles or passageways.
