Sr. Accountant/Treasury & GL Analyst
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Compensation: $50 – $55/hour
Duration: 3-Month Contract with high potential for permanent conversion
The Opportunity We are seeking a Sr. Accountant/ Treasury Analyst to join a well-established organization during a period of strategic financial activity. Reporting directly to the Controller and Interim CFO, you will serve as a critical partner in managing complex banking, general ledger, and treasury operations.
This is a high-impact role for an accounting professional who is "system-savvy" and thrives on resolving complex reconciliations while bringing order to sophisticated financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury & Banking:
Execute complex, high-volume bank reconciliations and manage treasury operations with a focus on accuracy and rigorous documentation.
GL Analysis:
Conduct deep-dive general ledger analysis, independently locating documentation and resolving discrepancies to ensure financial integrity.
Fixed Assets & Leasing:
Manage fixed asset capitalization processes and assist with property management and lease accounting tasks.
Specialized Accounting:
Oversee payroll reconciliations, prepaid accounts, and rental income/expense tracking.
Compliance & Reporting:
Manage sales tax reporting and maintain detailed financial schedules for audit readiness.
Non-Profit Stewardship (if applicable):
Support grant management (federal and restricted endowments), financial aid funding, and planned giving investment reconciliations.
Required Qualifications
5–10+ years of progressive General Ledger accounting and treasury experience.
Direct proficiency in Workday is required.
Deep banking knowledge and a proven track record of managing high-volume reconciliations.
Previous experience in the
Non-Profit
or
Higher Education
sectors is a significant plus.
