We have 7 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, Retina, Urology, Colo-Rectal.
Position requires weekdays only — no holidays, weekends, or call.
Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Responsibilities
Scheduling
Maintains master schedule to ensure coordination between doctors, anesthesia, lab and insurance carriers.
Schedule surgeries, coordinate schedule between Surgery Center and doctor's offices.
Gather all detailed information for the patient's chart, such as type of procedure, supplies, special equipment required, insurance information, and enter all patient information in computer system.
Schedule all surgical anesthesia services required according to doctor preference and availability.
Assure that pre‑certification/referrals are in order for Insurance Coordinator.
Complete billing packets for CSO on a daily basis.
Confers with OR Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse and/or Administrator to determine status of scheduled surgeries, and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Work closely with the Administrator and CSO Credentialing person when maintaining approved privileges for each physician as documents are updated.
Provide relief for the front business office, Receptionist and all other business functions as needed.
Cross‑trained to fill in and effectively perform all other job descriptions.
Interact appropriately and effectively with all patient/others regardless of age or ethnic background.
Initiate safe practices and be knowledgeable about current center policies and procedures, including pain management, abuse and neglect, sentinel events and response, variance reporting, response to sentinel event alerts, participation in root cause analysis and other key policies and procedures.
Assist with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participate in emergency preparedness drills.
Follow all equipment safety guidelines and be personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care for all business equipment.
Qualifications
High School education and/or equivalent.
Must have at least two years direct experience with scheduling surgeries.
