About the Position

The Manager, Revenue & Pricing is responsible for managing client financial terms from intake through collections, ensuring accuracy in rates, pricing structures, billing configurations, and compliance with client guidelines. This role ensures financial terms and intake requirements are accurately implemented, billing guidelines are followed, and revenue performance is closely monitored. The Manager, Revenue & Pricing leverages financial systems expertise to identify collection risks, support pricing analysis, and deliver consistent, high-quality financial operations and client service. This role works across functions such as Pricing, Finance, Billing and with other administrative departments, as needed, to ensure seamless alignment with client expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In conjunction with the Pricing Director: review and validate financial terms, engagement letters, and outside counsel guidelines for accuracy and policy alignment.

Configure and maintain billing arrangements, alternate fee structures, rate structures, discounts, and budgets in financial systems (Aderant Expert).

Conduct quality control checks to ensure accurate setup of billing configurations.

Monitor compliance with client billing requirements and develop preventive solutions.

Work with the Pricing Director to monitor and assess active alternate fee arrangements (AFAs) and budgets to ensure profitability

Support the annual timekeeper rate setting process in the financial systems (Aderant Expert)

Prepare forecasts and financial reports, including profitability analysis across client relationships, and matter performance insights.

Investigate billing disputes and coordinate corrective actions with Billing, eBilling, AR, and Compliance.

Communicate financial terms clearly across intake and billing teams.

Provide guidance on complex billing arrangements (fixed fees, discounts, fee caps, split payors, etc.).

Advise attorneys, Pricing Director, and Firm Management on portfolio performance, collections strategies, and financial risks.

Build strong partnerships and foster a collaborative approach between attorneys, pricing, finance, new business intake, compliance, and firmwide administrative teams.

Support client communications, negotiations, and assist with billing-related inquiries.

Recommend and implement effective workflow enhancements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies.

Document procedures and contribute to training materials for attorneys and other personnel.

Support technology enhancements and revenue cycle optimization initiatives.

Collaborate with leadership to analyze data, identify trends, and promote best practices.

Develop and mentor junior members of the team.

Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Accounting, Finance, Business, or related disciplines. 5+ years of experience in law‑firm billing, financial operations, client accounting, or revenue cycle management, including at least two years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2‑5 years’ experience with major legal financial systems such as: Aderant Expert Rates, Entity Manager is required.

Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Data Tables and Pivot Tables) and a demonstrated ability to transform and format raw data exports (e.g., CSV files) for accurate loading into client and internal systems.

Experience in with legal financial systems and tools such as: Aderant Expert Billing, BillBlast, Intapp, SharePoint, Smartsheets, NetDocuments is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex financial terms, client guidelines, and billing arrangements.

Hands‑on experience performing complex financial analysis, billing configuration, and client portfolio management.

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with sound judgment.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as part of a larger team.

High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.

Compensation Allen Matkins is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package. The anticipated base salary range for this full‑time role is $115,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year. Actual salary will depend upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job‑related skills, qualifications, and location.

The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external business factors.
