Material Control Coordinator I
to support our
Huntsville, AL
location (Discovery). The successful candidate will have experience with expediting flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules. This role will be vital to ensuring on-time deliveries, as well as successful inventory control. The role of Material Control Coordinator I will require adherence to company operating procedures. Working with materials related to both development and production on the manufacturing floor, it is expected that this role will mainly interface with the Manufacturing Manager, Floor lead, and Inventory Control Manager. Ideal Material Control Coordinator I candidate will be a self-motivated and solutions oriented individual capable of completing duties under general supervision.
Responsibilities
Parts Kitting – pulling parts from system generated pick list
Verifying picked parts against manufacturing order requirements
Identifying discrepancies and notifying appropriate parties to correct, and systemically issue to work orders and manufacturing orders
Cycle Counting – setting up cycle counts in ERP system, printing count sheets and physically performing cycle counts, entering count quantities into ERP system
Reconciling discrepancies in physical versus systemic quantities
Return to Stock – counting parts returned from manufacturing floor after manufacturing order builds
Researching and correcting discrepancies in system versus physical quantities being returned, and placing parts into the appropriate storeroom locations both physically and systemically
Part Storage/Issuance – packaging parts per quality standards, printing and labeling parts, pulling requested parts, and issuing parts systemically to the correct project/manufacturing order
Locate material, requisition material and establish delivery sequences according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material
Shipping/ Receiving Activities – receipt of incoming material, identifying non-conforming material, and preparing and processing outgoing shipments
Arrange for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma with 0-1 years of experience
Possess good communication skills including interpersonal communication and team communication
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Employee may frequently be required to stand; walk; use fine motor skills to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls as well as required to reach with hands and arms
Ability to multi-task and perform in an adaptable, fast paced, changing environment
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity in ERP/MES/PLM System
Familiarity with Costpoint Planning, Purchasing and Material Management Modules
Intermediate skill level in Excel
