Patient Access Representative – Cleveland Clinic Akron General Bath Health and Wellness Center
Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Bath Health and Wellness Center, a patient-friendly facility offering primary care, emergency care, specialty services, and a medically based fitness program.
As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients in the Emergency Department, verify contact, insurance, medical, and financial information, collect copays for diagnostic services, and pre-register patients for outpatient services. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians, and family members.
Shift Schedule Night shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Perform registration and complete an accurate face-to-face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical, and financial information.
Cross‑train to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register.
Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and ≥ 2 years of customer‑facing experience (in‑person or phone) OR Associate’s Degree and ≥ 1 year of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree.
Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of a course within the past year.
Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.
Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
In some locations, ability to move up to 25 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $15.75 Maximum hourly: $21.65 The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Compensation will be determined based on factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range excludes shift differentials, overtime, and the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
