Job Summary The Tower Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising tower crews in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of wireless telecommunications infrastructure. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and carrier standards. The Tower Foreman serves as the primary on‑site leader, responsible for crew performance, jobsite safety, quality control, and communication with management and clients.
Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance
Enforce OSHA, company, and client safety policies at all times
Conduct daily Job Safety Analyses (JSA), tailgate meetings, and site hazard assessments
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions exist
Maintain all required safety documentation and certifications on site
Crew Leadership & Supervision
Lead, direct, and mentor tower technicians and climbers
Assign daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow
Monitor crew performance, attendance, and conduct
Promote a professional, respectful, and team‑oriented work environment
Tower & Wireless Work
Supervise and participate in:
Antenna and line installations
Carrier upgrades and modifications
Mount, coax, fiber, and hybrid cable installations
Radio, RRU, and equipment cabinet installation
Rigging and hoisting operations
Ensure work meets carrier specifications and quality standards
Verify correct torque, grounding, labeling, and weatherproofing
Project Coordination
Review construction drawings, scopes of work, and close‑out packages
Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, and customers
Track job progress and report issues, delays, or material shortages
Ensure accurate completion of daily reports, photos, and close‑out documentation
Equipment & Materials
Inspect tools, rigging, and equipment before use
Ensure proper handling, storage, and inventory of materials
Report damaged or missing equipment promptly
Qualifications Required
Minimum 3–5 years of wireless tower climbing and construction experience
Previous experience as a Lead Tech or Tower Foreman preferred
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
Competent Climber and Rescue Certification
CPR/First Aid Certification
Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR and drug screening
Ability to climb towers up to 150+ feet and lift 50+ lbs
Preferred
Carrier certifications (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Dish)
RF Awareness Training
NWSA, Anritsu, or equivalent industry certifications
Experience with microwave, fiber, and PIM testing
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
High attention to detail and quality
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work at heights in varying weather conditions
Work Environment & Schedule
Extensive travel may be required
Work performed outdoors at heights and in all weather conditions
Long hours, nights, weekends, and emergency call‑outs may be required
Per diem and lodging provided when applicable
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb, stand, kneel, and work at heights for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, and rig heavy equipment
