Journeyman Instrumentation Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of process measurement devices and equipment in a real‑time process environment. The work accomplished ensures safe and reliable operation in the facilities.
Responsibilities
Perform the installation, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of both pneumatic and electronic instrumentation equipment such as pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, density and flow meters, and continuous monitoring systems in a real‑time industrial environment in a safe and reliable manner.
Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on I&C analytical systems and equipment as required to ensure production uptime.
Install instrument tubing, conduit, or raceways according to approved methods and in a workmanship‑like manner.
Qualifications
Ability to read and understand drawings such as P&IDs, control loop diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Proficiency with the installation and maintenance of automatic control valves.
Familiarity with the proper usage of electronic measurement equipment (VOM, process meters, calibrators, etc.) and trade‑specific hand tools.
